Kuvitus Arkkitehti-lehden numeroon AINE JA ÄLY (2–2024): Kuvitin Miten tekoäly muuttaa arkkitehtuuria? -puheenvuorot binäärinumeroista ladotulla Riemukaarella.
Aloitin kääntämällä Vitriviuksen De architecturan alun binäärikoodiksi. Koodista muodostui numeromassa, jota työstin kivipaaden lailla veistämällä siitä osia pois käyttämällä Riemukaari-maalausta pohjana. Kuvituksen painamiseen käytettiin lisäväriä Pantone 1635, jotta pienet numerot erottuvat väripohjalta. Taitoin myös kyseisen numeron 2–2024.
Illustration for the issue MATTER AND INTELLIGENCE (2–2024) of the Finnish Architectural Review: I made an Arc de Triomphe of binary numbers for the viewpoints How Does AI Change Architecture?
I started by translating the beginning of Vitruvius’ De architectura into binary code with a simple online converter. The code formed a mass of zeros and ones, which I worked on like a stone slab by carving parts out of it using a painting of the Arc de Triomphe as a base. The additional color Pantone 1635 was used to print the illustration, so that the small numbers stand out from the color base. I also made the layout for the issue 2–2024.
